Product Review

Raymarine Element 9 HVRaymarine is a reputable UK-based manufacturing company typically dealing with marine equipment. With its unique yet outstanding featured products, the company has built a strong impact in the market. Well, one of the most reliable products of them is Raymarine Element 9. It is a device to take to the outdoors for fishing and navigation. It provides clear underwater images, networking features, live mapping features, etc. It is equipped with a powerful sonar system with an HV-100 transducer. This Sonar can generate a range of 200 kHz, 350 kHz, and 1.2 MHz. The 200 Khz frequency is used for 2D CHIRP sonar, 350 kHz is used for structural scanning sonar, and 1.2 MHz is used for hyper vision sonar providing the accurate readings.

Moreover, the transducer supports all major features necessary for Sonar, such as CHIRP sonar, DownVision, SideVision, and RealVision 3D. HV means hyper vision, and it is used to provide the most accurate results produced by high-frequency waves of 1.2 Mhz. The user can use HV for high precision or standard structural scanning sonar for high depths.

Downvison sonar scans the water under the boat while the SideVision sonar covers the side to side coverage of the ship. The user can get extreme clarity with 3D images using RealVision 3D sonar to scan from any angle.

The maximum depth of CHIRP sonar is 900 feet, Downvision sonar can scan up to the depth of 600 feet, the side vision and realvision 3D can only gather the data till the depth of 300 feet, and HV is only suitable for 100 feet. The transducer also has a temperature sensor and comes with a 15-pin connector and 20 feet cable.

Raymarine element 9 fish finder supports GPS receivers, but it does not have any pre-fed charts. However, the system is compatible with Navionics, C-MAP, LightHouse, and other chart plots. The system also provides the users with the advantage of producing their chart plots using a realbathy contour mapping system that can create live charts with the accuracy of 1 foot. This uses the real-time data of GPS and Sonar to make the most accurate depth contours. Moreover, the system can store waypoints and routes so that the user can use them for later use.

It provides a decent screen display to the user. Although it does not have the touch screen feature, it can be easily controlled with the push button feature. The button control provides reliability and durability to the control system compared to the touch screen. It has an 800 x 480-pixel screen resolution powered by a quad-core processor. The system has an internal memory of 8 GB, but it can be extended up to 32 GB using a microSD card. With the powerful processor, the sonar data and navigational information are processed much faster and displayed on-screen with great accuracy.

It also has an excellent networking and wireless connection system and has the support of NMEA 2000 connectivity that can be used to connect the system to autopilot, AIS receiver, external GPS, and many other tools. Thus, with all my experience and my personal review I can deduce that these are the product’s exclusive features and aspects that give it a boost.

The Raymarine element 9 is equipped with a robust multi-frequency sonar system that can produce 200 kHz, 350 kHz, and 1.2 MHz frequency sounds. These sound waves are used for different purposes and have accurate imaging underwater.

Display

The device provides a powerful display system with a color screen and 800 x 480-pixel resolution. The LED backlights can also be adjusted so that they can be read easily during days. The display has the push control button to navigate between the options quickly.
